The 'Steffenskreuz' ('Steffens Cross') in Antweiler/Ahr (height: 6m/19'8''). Pastor Franz Steffens raised this cross 1937 with the financial aid of the Steffens Family. This was a courageous act to demonstrate his clear opposition to the Hitler regime - the Nazis had already ordered to remove all Christian crosses from public buildings.
